This is a timely reminder to check the smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in your home. I have covered too many stories like this over the years, and hope in some small way this reminder can prevent future tragedies like this one.
The home is in the picture above. On the left of the screen are flowers that people are leaving as a memorial to the victims. May God be with their families at this painful time.

There surely are a lot of pols bowing out of Congress. Guess they see the proverbial handwriting on the wall. Americans are sick of their partisanship, their profligate ways with our tax dollars,their cynical abuse of power, and their egos; and these politicians prefer not to mount campaigns predestined to lose. I've a question: What happens to their campaign "war chests" if they decide not to run???
